Arike Ogunbowale
Arike is an American professional player who is a member of the Dallas Wings Women's National Basketball Association. She was part of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in college, before being drafted with the number 5 overall by the Wings during the 2019 WNBA draft. Arike Ogunbowale was born the 2nd March, 1997 in Milwaukee Wisconsin to parents Yolanda and Gregory Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale (26) and Dare Ogunbowale(20) are her siblings. She was the youngest child in her family and her parents spoilt her to the max. The father of her Gregory was a soldier to the Nigerian Army for quite some time. Ogunbowale grew within a family that was busy. Her mother Yolanda was a softball player at DePaul, and her brother Dare was once an athlete in football. Her aunt, Endia Oliver played Volleyball at Tennessee State and her niece played volleyball with UAPB. Ogunbowale was on the institution's Honour Roll for three years consecutively. She also received recognition for her career in high-school, including various awards. Arike completed her schooling at Divine Savior Holy Angels High School, located in her home town. As a student at the school, she also played three seasons of varsity soccer. Ogunbowale led her school to a number of impressive wins thanks to her exceptional skills multiple times. High schooler Ogunbowale has made an appearance in 73 games and has accumulated 1,477 rebounds as well as 1,477 points during her professional career. Ogunbowale managed to take home gold in 2013 World U16 Championships of FIBA Americas and the 2014 World Championships of FIBA U17. In July of 2014, she was selected to be a member of the USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale is also a part of the ACC All-Freshman Team, after her first season in a college.
