She's won multiple awards and nominations including an award called the Golden Globe Award. Taylor-Joy resigned from school when she was just 16 to pursue a career in acting. Anya Taylor Joy (born April 16th 1996) was born in Miami Florida. The daughter of Dennis Alan Taylor, a ex-bank executive, along with Jennifer Marina Joy, a psychologist, she is about half English and half Spanish. Her father is Argentine, of Scottish-English descent. Her mother's ancestral lineage is Spanish and English. Taylor Joy has four siblings. One of them is at each one of their parents' previous marriages. Her family is originally from Buenos Aires, but moved to Victoria at the age of 6. Taylor-Joy claims that the move into London was difficult and she was unable to take the time to learn English so that she could avoid returning to Argentina. She had to switch schools to Northlands and then Hill House. She enrolled later at Queen's Gate School in which she studied Ballet and participated in school-based plays. When she was 16 she dropped out of school to take on a full-time job in acting. Taylor-Joy always knew that she wanted to be an actress. This was achieved when Sarah Doukas founder of Storm Management gave Taylor-Joy a modelling job.
